Source Protocol (SOURCE) is a Cosmos-focused Web3 technology suite that centers on its own interoperable Layer 1 blockchain and a set of native applications aimed at retail and enterprise use cases. It positions itself as a framework for turning traditional web tools and financial services into decentralized, interoperable products.
Source combines three main directions under one umbrella:
-
SOURCE Network (Layer 1): a standalone Proof-of-Stake Cosmos SDK chain designed for scalability and interoperability, with IBC transfers and CosmWasm smart contracts for building apps and tooling.
-
Native application suite: a group of products built on the chain, including an interchain DEX/AMM (SOURCEswap), a lending/borrowing marketplace (SOURCEfi), an NFT/RWA marketplace (SOURCEmarket), a token distribution/liquidity tool (SOURCElaunch), and an immersive ecosystem hub concept (SOURCEworld).
-
Enterprise / DeFi-as-a-Service layer: a white-label integration approach aimed at bringing non-custodial DeFi services into existing finance or consumer apps, alongside a “Source One” membership/card concept.
Overall, Source positions itself as an interoperable Cosmos L1 plus an integrated app and enterprise stack for DeFi, tokenized assets, and broader Web3 services.
